Proxy Server Instructions

Ensuring that you are not using a Proxy Server.

The Flying J EDNA network requires that you disable any proxy server that might be set up in your browser. If you do not disable this setting, you will not be able to navigate the Internet. If you experience long and incomplete web page loading while using the EDNA network, this setting is most likely at fault. To disable your proxy on Internet Explorer 6:

1.                Open Internet Explorer and click once on the stop

button ( the small circle with an X located in the

browser menu bar. This will put a stop to the loading of the home page.

2.                Click on the Tools Menu in the browser's menu.

3.                Select Internet Options from the menu choices.

4.                Select the Connections tab in the Internet Options

screen. Click on the LAN-Settings button located in the bottom right corner.

5.                On the resulting Local Area Network (LAN)

Settings box there is a section labeled Proxy server.

In this section you will see a check box indicating

that a proxy server is in use. Uncheck this box and

click OK in each uncovered window until you have

backed out to your browser window. At this point

you should be able to click on your home page or

navigate manually to any desired URL location.

Note: By following these instructions you will not remove your proxy addresses. They can be restored by navigating back to the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window and placing the checkmark back in the Proxy server box.
